About the Moot
The 2022 University of Malaya & National University of Singapore Friendly Moot Competition is an exclusive international mooting competition organized by the NUS Law MDC in collaboration with University of Malaya (UM) Mooting Club. Every year, 16 mooters from both universities will meet to participate in this event.
We are proud to announce that after a 2 year gap, the 2022 University of Malaya & National University of Singapore Friendly Moot Competition is back! The moot will be hosted by NUS Law MDC, and will be held entirely on zoom. The event will be held online on 3 consecutive days from 28 July 2022 to 30 July 2022 (both dates inclusive) via Zoom. The Moot Issue will be based on Contract Law guided by laws from both Singapore and Malaysia’s jurisdictions – giving mooters a chance to hone their legal skills.
The competition will involve pairing of mooters from both Singapore and Malaysia. The moot is pitched to be an entry level international moot, and gives mooters a chance to refine their mooting skills and interact with our foreign counterparts from UM!
Mooters will obtain the privilege of interacting and gaining knowledge from a renowned panel of judges from both sides of the Causeway, and we warmly welcome Rising Year 2 LLB and Year 2 JD students to participate!
MDC would like to thank University of Malaya for their support and efforts in helping to co-organize the moot, without which the event would not be possible.
